Institutes of the Christian Religion, John Calvin

>Not Too Late to Begin Reading Calvin’s Institutes

The Foundation for Reformed Theology has a different reading guide from the one I linked to last week. If you wanted to read through Calvin’s Institutes this year but decided against it because you did not start at the beginning of the month, I would suggest the reading guide put together by Dr. James C. Goodloe, IV. If you skip the Prefatory material and begin with Book One then you only need to read through 1.5.1 by today. Definitely doable. The difference with this reading guide is that you need to read some each day without any scheduled breaks for reflection every two weeks (see J. R. Harris’ guide).

  1. >Oh, nuts. I forgot to start. I think I’m going to go with the other guide, though–I’m a grad student. I’m used to binge reading. 🙂
