  1. >Just saw it tonight on BBC. It was rather boring if you ask me, not as many fireworks as I thought there would be. McCain looked pretty stoked a couple times with that grimace on his face. Makes him look angry and old (which he is, old). Obama fails miserably without the prompter or practiced speech. Overall I have to say McCain made Obama look like a moron and way out of his league. Obama looked like a dumb kid stumbling over his answers and playing off sound bites. If this were a Town Hall setting McCain would have CRUSHED Obama.

  3. >I’m watching it now, only about half-way through. McCain seems to be dominating here. He’s better standing up, in any debates when he’s seated McCain looks like he’s about to fall asleep, but Obama was on his heels on the defensive the majority of the time…at least half-way through. Gotta watch the rest…

  4. >Obama said McCain is right so many times I thought that it’d be used against him for sure and, sure enough, a new ad was released within minutes of the end of the debate.

  6. >Certainly McCain won the night. McCain hit Obama over and over again with comments that he doesn’t understand various issues, he’s not ready, he’s naive, etc. Obama, of course, could not name a single program to cut, all he could do was smirk and raise his hand when McCain pointed out his earmarks, his naive statements on Georgia, his wrong views on the surge, the fact that he did not go to Iraq until forced to, his liberal voting record, etc. Obama memorized some key lines and had that look in his eyes when he was trying the read the words in the mind as he spoke. Dick Morris is right that McCain missed an opportunity in the first part to explain why he suspended his campaign, why he went to Washington, why he caused this drama this week. As I said, McCain won the night but I’m not sure how much it will help him overall. I think next week’s VP debate may have more of an impact than this one will.

  7. >On a side note, CNN just showed the clip from the Dem debates last summer when he said he would meet without conditions. Its amazing that he did not have those big white streaks at his temples just one year ago. Guess he’s been using the same hair colorist as Bill Clinton used to use.Interesting pics from Salon.com. Looks like they used a little too much color in the 3rd pick. ;)Link

  10. >Does Obama think saying “Tolly-ban” and “Pahckyston” makes him sound more informed on foreign affairs?

  11. >Obama is not good away from the teleprompter, bottom line. Deer in the head lights.

  12. >How long will McCain allow Obama to pin the financial crisis on Bush’s lack of regulation when it was the Dems who opposed any increased regulation of Fannie and Freddie? At least he’s bringing up Obama’s millions upon millions of earmarks now.
