>A Year of Grace

>Friend of GraceToday marks the completion of the first year of the Conservative Reformed Mafia! Thank you to our growing number of readers, especially those of you who have contributed to our discussions. You have made our first year a success. Thank you to our great contributors who continue to take time out of thier busy schedules to put some hard work and serious thought into the posts and comments of CRM. Thank you to those who link to us and have taken the time to mention us on your blogs. We were honored to be recognized as the Best New Blog of 2007 by Parchment and Pen and we hope our 2nd year will be even better than the first.

Despite our tongue-in-cheek name and appearance we trust you’ve come to see that CRM is not your typical conservative or Reformed blog. Calvinistic blogs have a reputation (unfairly in some cases) for being combative, graceless, attack dogs. We hope to move beyond that stereotype although we have some fun with our attack-dog-esque mascot Grace. We aim to make CRM a home for serious and God-honoring thought and gracious yet resolute discussion and debate. We want to move beyond mere partisanship and parochialism and transcend outdated and inadequate labels and stereotypes. We are reformed and always reforming as we set out to express old truths in a way that takes seriously the questions of our present day. And as we said in our inaugural post, “Hopefully you’ll find here a satisfying mix of serious thinking, engaging discussion, light hearted humor, and realistic perspectives based on our experiences and studies.”

We’re excited to begin Year Two of CRM. Stick with us, join in the discussion, and tell your friends. Here comes the Mafia!

  2. >This is a Calvinistic blog?”Why? Because we don’t discuss TULIP and bash Arminians and Emergers all the time?:)
