  1. >Major kudos to Nathan for somehow fitting a southern rock legend into a discussion about doctrinal differences. Well, the Van Zant connection does make sense. What is more Calvinistic than “Lord help me, I can’t cha-e-a-e-a-e-a-e-a-e-a-e-a-e-ange”? Can you say foreordained reprobation? I knew you could. 😉

  4. >It’s amazing how people can see doctrinal differences such as these, that are quite capable of existing alongside one another, as being a threat to the church. The real threat to the church is this attitude. Good thing she wasn’t around in Calvin’s day (although she appears to be old enough) or he might have burned her at the stake!

  5. >But VE Day happened in 1945! Perhaps she had in mind the founding of the Hells Angels. They started up in 1948. Or maybe Ronnie van Zant being born. Can’t hardly tell.

  10. >Most challenging threat in 60 years, eh? Hmm, what was going on 60 years ago…oh, Nazi-ism? I wonder what she had in mind there.
